Cairn Energy – MBA Production Facilities – Conceptual Engineering Review – India

Cairn Energy India is implementing waxy oil development projects and has different project parts at different stages of implementation. EPConsult Energies has supported Cairn in providing independent Conceptual Engineering reviews for the projects, including providing a report highlighting recommendations for the forthcoming project phases, all with the objective of securing flexibility in design, improving availability and operability, without compromising costs.

Dolphin Energy – Dolphin Project – Process, flow assurance and QRA studies – Qatar

The Dolphin Project was implemented by Dolphin Energy and its partners. EPConsult Energies provided significant input to this project by performing process and flow assurance studies for the 2 x 36” 80km sea lines and the 1 x 48” x 380km gas export pipeline from Qatar to the UAE. EPEn’s scope also involved a comprehensive Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for offshore and onshore facilities and operations.

Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation – Fourth Gas Train Project – Value Engineering – Kuwait

Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC) has commissioned SK Engineering and Construction Co. (SKEC) to undertake FEED for the Fourth Gas Train Project (FGTP) in Kuwait. In order to review the project strategies regarding Engineering, Procurement and Construction, KNPC and SKEC have commissioned EPConsult Energies to support the process of optimising the following project phases. EPConsult Energies has applied the value engineering process to review and derive optimum solutions for the project. The derived recommendations resulted in significant value for the project.

Occidental – Mukhaizna EOR Project – Fire Risk Assessment – Sultanate of Oman

Occidental Mukhaizna is developing the heavy oil Mukhaizna field in the Sultanate of Oman. The site is located in the South-Central area of Oman. The field encompasses two structures, North and South, with multiple layers of oil-bearing reservoir sands. To optimise the facilities design and control the potential risks associated with operating the plant EPConsult Energies has performed a Fire Risk Assessment study to support Occidental in understanding risks, identifying risk reduction measures and reducing risks to acceptable levels.

Qatar Petroleum – Common Cooling Water System – RAM Study – Ras Laffan, Qatar

EPConsult Energies has recently completed a Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Study for the QP EPIC for the Phase II Ras Laffan Common Cooling Seawater System. The purpose of the study was to update the original RAM Study performed 3 years ago by making use of the operational data of the plant to verify if the predicted availability and reliability was achieved and can be maintained throughout the plant operational life-cycle, and, if not, make recommendations for improvement.

Saudi Aramco – Drilling Support Vessel Optimization – Saudi Arabia

EPConsult Energies has recently completed a study to help Saudi Aramco optimise its fleet of supply, logistics and safety vessels for its large ongoing drilling programmes. The purpose of the study was to improve efficiency and reduce OPEX, without compromising risks. The study identified a number of areas where improvements could be made thereby increasing efficiency and reducing overall costs. The project also involved preparation of software for vessel positioning optimisation.

Total E&P – Kharir Basement Phase 1 – Production Availability Study – Yemen

Total Exploration and Production (E&P) Yemen is operating Block 10 in Yemen. The facilities are located on the East Shabwa permit about 600 km to the North East of Sanaa, capital of Yemen, in the Hadramawt province. ENPPI has performed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services for the new onshore facilities of the Kharir Basement Phase 1 – Basement Processing Unit (BPU). The project is aiming to install a dedicated treatment train for the Basement Reservoir that will treat the oil and water separated at the Central Compression Unit (CCU), in order to cope with the treatment capacity of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) with regards to production potential. EPConsult Energies has performed a RAM study, which was focused at identifying bottle necks that could compromise the facility’s ability to meet the target availability and to review the adequacy of redundancy in the system. The RAM study highlighted practical recommendation that would successfully support the project in achieving adequate levels of reliability and availability.
