EP successfully supported a group of Non-Operator JV partners based in a Mediterranean country with an OPEX, work programme and budget review and represented the client group interests to the international major operator. This included a range of analytical techniques to determine potential areas of overspending, establish baselines and trends, review of processes and procedures and an organisational and functional review of the operator’s onshore and offshore organisations. The analytical stage included a number of recommendations and conclusions. This was then supplemented by representation of the client group interests at a series of technical meetings with the operator and strategic-level internal discussions with the Non-Operator partners' CEOs and other directors. In addition, EP advised and assisted with the selection of external counsel for additional legal support. The project concluded with substantial cost savings in the immediate budget combined with a range of additional measures and procedures to allow the client group greater control through the Joint Operating Committee.
