EPEn’s Principle Consultant, David Price FIMechE, chaired, and made a key note presentation, at the Asset Integrity Summit Conference, held in The Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen over 30th September, 1st October.
The Summit attracted leading practitioners and thought leaders in the application of Asset Integrity Management in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Reflecting the key themes of the summit, Mr Price’s presentation highlighted the issues of emerging asset integrity information overload and the necessity to be able to manipulate large quantities of data to convert information into knowledge and intelligence.
He also illustrated by means of case studies, how the apparent disorder of diverse corporate work processes and systems relating to asset integrity can be structured into an ISO9000 type model management system. This approach aligns well with instruction and guidance from the UK HSE (KP 3 and 4) and PAS55/EP55000 standards on Asset Performance Management.
To conclude, his case studies also illustrated how, by focusing on criticality and exposure, asset integrity reporting can provide senior management and decision makers with the right quality of information to ensure economic and integrity decisions are kept in balance.
